Though it’s not easy to spot red flags in parfum, it is essential to know how to do it with your beauty routine and beauty products. While there are specific countries which sell products that are not well regulated, other countries hold very strict regulation laws to companies that market cosmetics.

It’s very obvious that some harmful ingredients can reach your skin through products, since there are countries that have not set up measures when it comes to marketing women’s skin care products. With that being said, below are red flags of beauty products that you should label check before going for a product.

Parabens – Preservative

Parabens are simply artificial preservatives used in lengthening the shelf life of beauty products, and are usually present in most skincare products and even fake parfum. Since beauty products use a lot of minerals and perishable formulas, this preservative is merely added to avoid spoilage and mild on the cosmetics.

Actually, paraben is quite a harmful ingredient to the skin as it can lead to cracking, swelling and even damage skin barrier when used over a long period of time. You should, therefore, opt to use products that have natural preservatives as they give you a flawless skin. Even after you confirm your product consists of natural preservatives, it’s also very essential to check the expiry date label.

Formaldehyde-Preservative

It’s another preservative and is often added to skincare products. Ingredients such as DMDM, hydantoin and methylene that are found in the formaldehyde are label red flags to watch out before you purchase a cosmetics. These ingredients are mostly found in nail polishes and eyelash glue.

Using a parfum containing such preservatives can lead to irritation, itching and scaling of your skin. Formaldehyde releasers are also harmful when it comes to hair products, and exposure to them in a salon environment is something you should take with high concern.

Talc- Mineral Additive

Talc is a mineral additive found in setting powders, blushes and event matte lipsticks. It’s used to absorb moisture from the surface where it’s applied on. Furthermore, it can be used to lighten pigment in products. However, talc is quite a harmful when used in beauty product as it can cause irritation when its particles are rubbed against your skin.

Moreover, people with respiratory issues are also recommended not to use beauty products that contain talc in them. It’s therefore advisable to go talc -ree while purchasing your beauty products.
